Tannins and Tea-Colored Water
Yellow or tea-colored well water may indicate naturally occurring tannins, but iron or other material can look similar. Tannins may vary seasonally and can interfere with certain treatment processes. Testing should distinguish color sources before equipment is chosen. Depending on the findings, specialized ion exchange, oxidation, or other treatment may be evaluated.
